Wendell L. Jacobs

Wendell L. Jacobs, age 76, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 03, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1940 in Kankakee, IL, the son of Walter and Gayle (Scarcliff) Jacobs. Wendell served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He grew up helping his uncle Roy on the farm. On May 3, 1974 he married Barbara Stefanich Lemkuhl in Bourbonnais, IL. Wendell worked at the Kankakee County Illinois Sheriff’s Department for several years as a Detective and as an Officer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. Wendell was a member of the Lion’s Club of Chebanse, IL. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.



Survivors include his wife Barbara Jacobs of Fond du Lac; three children, Kimberly (Jeff) Faulkner of Clifton, IL, Jim Lehmkuhl of Ashkum, IL, Jill (Shane) Decker of FL; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy (Glenn) Mann of Manteno, IL; one brother, Wesley (Sandy) Jacobs of CA; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.



Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 3-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
