Wilbert Bernie “Wil” Cluppert, age 77, of Fond du Lac was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 2, 2021. He was born in Manchester Township, Wis., on June 21, 1944, to the late Frederick and Hulda (Meilahn) Cluppert. Wilbert grew up as the youngest of seven children on the family farm in Green Lake County in which he grew a love for the great outdoors. After high school graduation he joined the Wisconsin National Guard and served for six years. Wilbert married the love of his life, Susan Mae Kaiser, on January 4, 1969, and they enjoyed 52 years together.
Wilbert retired from Mercury Marine after 36 years of service as a die caster. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, going on short trips with the family, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Wilbert also had a special love for his grand pups.
Wilbert is survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Cheryl (Chad) Buros of North Fond du Lac, Sally (Brian) Breckheimer of Sherwood, and Frederick (Stacy) Cluppert of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Britney Breckheimer, Branden Breckheimer, Cheyenne Moon, Sierra Moon, Dylan Cluppert, Noah Cluppert, Hannah Breckheimer, and Alyson Cluppert; three step-grandchildren, Erika (Samantha) Mevissen, Hannah Buros, and Keegan Buros; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Gabbi, and Roman. He is further survived by a sister, Evelyn Schmidt; other in-laws, Grace Cluppert, Ruth Cluppert, Mary (John) Stemper, Sandra Hoepfner, Frederick (Bonnie) Kaiser, Christine (John) Winter, and Gerald (Ann) Kaiser as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arthur Cluppert, Herbert Cluppert, Emery Cluppert, Russell Cluppert, and Marvin Cluppert; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Cluppert, and Twila Cluppert; and two brothers-in-law, LeRoy Schmidt, and William Hoepfner.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at church, beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial in Estabrooks Cemetery will follow Mass with Military Funeral Honors rendered by the US Army.
