William "Bill" J. Kuslits, Sr., 67, of County Road B, Oakfield, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by his family after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born the son of Oliver and Elenor Rauls Kuslits on December 9, 1940 in Fond du Lac County. On April 27, 1963 Bill married Diane D. Dewitz at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield. Bill graduated from Oakfield High School in 1959. After graduation he was employed at Mercury Marine and then Romart Manufacturing in Oakfield. He retired in 2005 from National Rivet of Waupun after 40 years. Bill was a member of Sons of Zebedee, St. James Church, Oakfield. He was a lifetime member of Whitetail Unilimited and was a former caretaker of Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield which he remains a Director of the Association. Bill was always seen outside taking care of his lawn, garden and pond. He enjoyed having everything looking nice and buying toys for his grandchildren. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family always came first in his life.SURVIVORS: his wife, Diane; one daughter, Barbara (Byron) VanEgtern, Fond du Lac; one son, William Jr., Waupun; four grandchildren, Nicole and Jacob VanEgtern, Colton and Carter Kuslits; three brothers, James (Mary) Kuslits, Wayne (Cheryl) Kuslits, both of Oakfield, John Kuslits, Green Bay; one sister, Ursula Frost, North Fond du Lac; one aunt, Helen Luttenberger, Fond du Lac. He is further survived by one brother-in-law, Marvin (Shirley) Dewitz, Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Virginia Dewitz, Oakfield; nieces, nephews, god children, wonderful relatives, friends and especially his best buddy, his dog, Dusty. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; aunts and uncles; a brother-in-law, Earl "Squeak" Dewitz; a sister-in-law, Connie Gregory and brother-in-law, Don Gregory, Sr.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again from 10 "“ 11 AM on Wednesday at church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Sons of Zebedee, St. James Church, Oakfield with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.A memorial will be established in Bill's name.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
