William "Billy" J. Brester, age 71, of 32 N. Military Rd, Fond du Lac, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1939 in Fond du Lac, the son of August and Viola (Meiss) Brester. Billy bartended and helped run the family bar, Augie's Bar on Highway 45, and he also bartended at Gordy's Welcome Inn. On July 7, 1965 he married Patricia Schafer in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2004. Billy worked at Rueping Leather, Giddings and Lewis, and at Always Ready Enterprises. He was a member of the Eagles Club and Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. Billy enjoyed socializing with his friends and was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Leo. Most of all he loved his "little angel", his granddaughter Addison.SURVIVORS: one son, Paul William "Bessie" (Amberly) Brester of Fond du Lac, one granddaughter, Addison, sister, Shirley (Mel) Streeter of Fond du Lac, four sisters in law, Shirley (Buster) Bell-Elsinger of Fond du Lac, Darlene (Ken) Omland of Gray, TN, Nancy (Butch) Luedke of Fond du Lac, and Karen (Chuck) Palkovich of Fond du Lac, many nieces and nephews, good friends, Bonnie Wachendorf, Ron Bowe, Andy Portman, Tom Kneuppel, and Jr King. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, two sisters in law, Sandra Schafer and Betty Grebe, two brothers in law, Donald Bell and John Grebe.
VISITATION: Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Reverend David Pavesic officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 19 at 11:00 A.M. at Estabrooks Cemetery with procession from the funeral home at 10:45 A.M.
