William C "Wild Bill" Miller

September 8, 1936 — December 30, 2020

William C. “Wild Bill” Miller, 84, of Rosendale, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his residence with family at his side. He was born September 8, 1936 in Eldorado, the son of Harry and Marcella (Patt) Miller. Bill graduated from Rosendale High School and proceeded to work as a machinist at Mercury Marine until his retirement in 2001. On July 8, 1995, he married Delores “DeeDee” Ziegler at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Bill was the owner and operator of Wild Bill’s Lawncare for 60 years.



Bill was a lifelong member of the Eldorado and Rosendale Community. He loved to watch sports. Whether it was high school sports, Packers, Brewers, Bucks or Badgers. If there was a game to be played, he was watching it. Bill was a member of the Eagles Club, and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. His motto was, “Work hard, and play hard,” and he lived that motto to the fullest. Bill was a generous man, always willing to help others. He was outgoing and made friends wherever he went. Bill loved animals, especially his dogs, Buddy and Sparky.



He is survived by his wife, Delores “DeeDee”; two sons, Bill (Mary) and Dusty (Lori) Miller; daughter, Julie Miller; two stepchildren, Troy (special friend, Sheri) Pflum and Tracie (Paul) Halfmann; thirteen grandchildren, Becky, Billy (Brie), Chris, Sean, Nolan, Avarie, Adam, Jennifer, Abbigal, Brianna, Kristen, Hannah and Ryan; two great grandchildren, Liam and Hughes; daughter -in-law, Tammy Pflum; four brothers, Eugene (Verna) Miller, Harvin (MaryLou) Miller, Gary (Gail) Miller and Wally (Carol) Miller; sister, LuAnn Shepro; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Warren (Barb) Miller; and mother-in-law, Bridget Hass.



A private family service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.



The family would like to extend a thank you to Hospice nurse Casey, CNA Cammy and the Marquardt Hospice Chaplain for the care and compassion they showed to Bill. They would like to thank Pastor Michael Zuberbier for his comfort and spiritual guidance for Bill during this time.



A memorial will be established in Bill’s name.
