William J. Bonno

William J Bonno, (Bill, Bones), 57 of 563 Lake St, passed away on Thursday evening, February 16, 2006 at St Agnes Hospital.He was born on July 7, 1948, in Gladstone, MI, the son of Vernon and Patricia (Krueger) Bonno. Bill was a 1966 graduate of Goodrich High School.On September 16, 1984 he married Doreen A Lesch is Escanba, MI.He served in the US Navy from 1968 to 1971 as a Petty Officer 2nd Class Leading Gunners Mate on board the USS Leahy. He also served active duty in Vietnam on Swift boats in 1971. Bill worked for Ameritech as a cable and fiber splicer from 1967 to his retirement in 1994.He was a member of Swiftboat Sailors Association, Disabled American Veterans, and an honorary member of the Mohican Nation veterans. Bill was a sponsor for Pheasants Forever, the Elks Foundation, and Ducks Unlimited. He also was a life member of the NRA and operated a firearms business.Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dog Nik, and his family and many good friends.Survivors include his wife, Doreen of Fond du Lac; seven children, Jillian Bonno, Pvt Michael Bonno of Fort Riley, KS, Sarah Bonno, Paul (Kelly) Bonno, Laura Bonno, Carla (John) Bloedorn, Brenda (Jason) Opperman; and 10 grandchildren all of Fond du Lac. His mother Patricia of Appleton; sister Carla (Gene) Dercks of Appleton; niece, Ann (Renis) Delgado of Kimberly, and nephew, Scott Dercks of DePere. His uncles, Gerald (Dolly) Bonno of Iron River, MI, and Jim (June) Bonno of Spokane, WA; two aunts, Joan Krueger of Fond du Lac and Corrine Krueger of Appleton. In-laws, Don and Sandy Lesch of Oostburg, and his cousins, Doug Bonno, Jeff Bonno and Lois Bonno of Iron River, MI.Preceding him in death was his father Vernon J Bonno in 2001 and 2 uncles.



Services: Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2006, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Deacon. Larry Hughes will be officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Margaret's Cemetery in Neenah.Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2006, at the funeral home.
