On May 30, 2016 William Kenneth “Bill” Kinyon peacefully left his earthly home and took the stairway to heaven to seek his heavenly home after a long courageous battle with cancer. He took that first step after gently releasing the loving hands of his children, Shannon and Nick and his wife, Carol. Bill was born June 12, 1948 in Fond du Lac, WI to Donald and Gladys (Garb) Kinyon. Bill grew up in the rural community of Eldorado and attended Rosendale High School, graduating in 1966. Immediately following graduation, Bill joined the United States Army, serving from 1966 to 1969. His military years were spent in Korea and Thailand. Upon returning from the military Bill met Janice “Jan” Bahr. They were married May 6, 1972 in Fond du Lac. They built a home in the Rosendale area where they raised their two children, Shannon and Nick. It was also the place after 22 years of marriage on November 4, 1994 that Jan received her angel wings. Bill was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Michels Pipeline, Courtney & Plummer, 4X and Rahn Construction, retiring in 2011. On September 2, 2006 Bill married Carol (Rozek-Christie) in the town of Byron. Together along with their children they formed a blended family that followed Bill’s lead about caring for and loving each other. Many family events took place including vacations at Oneida Lake creating memories that will live on. Bill loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the “coop” or just being outdoors. He loved negotiating for the best deal and playing practical jokes. He had a soft spot for his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Bill found peace in his faith and trusted in God’s plan.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Kurt) Sadowska; his son, Nicholas “Nick” (Rose); his wife, Carol; her sons, Todd (Dyane) Christie and Troy (Angie) Christie; grandchildren, Alayna and Ryan Sadowska; William Kinyon; Lauren and Braden Christie; and Chace Christie. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Mary); sisters-in-law, Susan (Jeff) Rock and Karen (Gary) Babler; brothers-in-law, Steve Bahr, James (Kathy) Rozek and Steve (Denise) Rozek; his mother-in-law, Delores Rozek; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill is further survived by many dear friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jan and her parents, LeRoy and Marianne Bahr; Bill’s parents; Donald and Gladys; Carol’s father, Gilbert Rozek; and a sister-in-law, Lois Bahr.
