William P. "Chief" Tadych, age 92 of 225 Broadway Street, North Fond du Lac and the Woodlands Senior Park, Fond du Lac died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born the son of Joseph and Mary Monka Tadych in Manitowoc on December 13, 1916. On June 21, 1938 he married Phyllis I. "Chickie" Shaw at Sacred Heart Church Rectory in Manitowoc.. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2008. As a young man William worked in the Civilian Conservation Camps at Jump River, WI. . He was employed by the SOO Line Railroad from 1939 to 1984 where he worked as an engineer. He was a member of Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac where he served as an usher and a member since 1947. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking and had built some of his homes. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus.SURVIVORS: He is survived by two sons, Michael (Sandra) Tadych,Bradenton, Florida and Peter (Barbara) Tadych, Van Dyne, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three greatgreatgrandchildren. William is further survived by his sister, Betty (Dr.John) Streffling and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three grandchildren and eighteen brothers and sisters.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Presentation Church,,705 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac from 10 A.M. to 11:00 AM. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2009 at the church with Reverend John Simon officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
