W.G. "Gerry" FeuerpfeilWolfgang Gerhard Feuerpfeil, 89, of 364 Taft Street, was born to Eternal life on Friday, June 2, 2006, at his residence. He was born August 26, 1916, in Leipzig, Germany, the son of Reinhold Richard and Martha Anne Baehr Feuerpfeil. He and his family came to the United States when he was seven years old and arrived at Ellis Island on August 30, 1923. He graduated from Milwaukee Boys Trade and Technical School in 1935 as Valedictorian. Gerry graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1941. On August 30, 1941, he married Nina Eloise Gratton at Summerfield United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, Gerry started employment as an Engineer at Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Company where he continued to work for 24 years, ending his final years of service there as Industrial Sales Manager. He then became a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for the Allis Chalmers Plant in Appleton. Later on he worked as a District Manager for the AMF Corporation out of York, Pennsylvania. Mr. Feuerpfeil was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1952. He was general contractor for the building of Faith Lutheran School, and was on numerous church committees. He served as officer and member on the Executive Board at Winnebago Lutheran Academy for over a decade. He had many special talents, among which were architectural design, woodworking and cabinetmaking, and winemaking. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and raising and training Black Labs. He was wildly enthusiastic about his Badgers and Packers. The annual family trip to the Kentucky Derby created many unforgettable memories. Gerry was proud of his German heritage and shared many wonderful stories with his family. He was a most wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving is his wife, Nina, two daughters, Judith Anne (Franklin) Mesner of Greendale, and Linda (Kenneth) Wochos of Fond du Lac, seven grandchildren, Terry Cummings of Sturgeon Bay, Pam (Joe) Armentrout of Madison, Michele (Jim) Tesmer of Wauwatosa, Matt (Vicki) Mesner of Stevens Point, Lindsay Holschbach of Lexington, KY, and Lauren and Leslie Wochos of Fond du Lac, 12 great-grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Luke, Samantha, Jessica, Ali, Taylor, Macki, Maja, Jake, Nate and Noah. His parents, a brother, Siegfried, and an uncle, George Albert Baehr, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Gerry Feuerpfeil will be on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, from 12 noon to 2pm at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 2 pm at the church on Tuesday. The Revs. David Haugly and Joel Gaertner will officiate and entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be directed to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
